Overseas Vote Foundation provides Georgia approved vote-print-mail ballot to overseas and military voters

Overseas Vote Foundation (OVF) announced on November 17 that a customized version of the newly upgraded online Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot from OVF is available now to the 173,000 overseas and military voters eligible to cast ballots in the upcoming US Senate Runoff Election in Georgia being held on December 2, 2008.

This is a race of razor-thin margins that may be determined by the turnout of overseas and military voters. OVF strongly urges all overseas and military networks and groups to inform Georgia state voters of the opportunity to participate in this crucial Senate race. Voters must act now to get their ballots back in time,” stated Susan Dzieduszycka-Suinat, President and CEO of Overseas Vote Foundation.

OVF’s Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot, developed with the support of The Pew Charitable Trusts’ Make Voting Work Program, uses a Vote-Print-Mail Ballot system to guide the voters through the Georgia state-specific questions and present them with the runoff candidate list for Georgia’s US Senate Runoff Election. Voters can simply point, click, vote and then print the ballot for mailing.

The OVF system produces the proper ballot documents and provides voters with complete instructions, the postal mailing address and their election official contact information.

Voters should be aware that the ballot postmark deadline is Tuesday, December 2, 2008 and the ballot has until Friday, December 5, 2008 to arrive at their election office. This is a very tight timeline and we are encouraging voters to act as soon as possible. Voters can access the ballot online at the OVF site right now. They should act immediately to get the ballot in the mail,” emphasized Kate Hurlock, Director of Election Services at Overseas Vote Foundation.

The OVF Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot is for the US Senate election only. Voters may opt to use the Georgia State Write-in Absentee Ballot to vote in statewide elections of Public Service Commission, District 4, Northern and Appeals Court Judge in addition to US Senate. Instructions are available from the Georgia Division of Elections on the Secretary of State website.
