Panama's Caribbean coast has a small variation in tides --- rarely as much as two feet --- but on the Pacific side the difference between high and low tide can be 18 feet or more. Here we look from the Casco Viejo west over Panama Bay at low tide. In the background on the right we see the high-rise apartment blocks of El Chorrillo, and to the left the Bridge of the Americas.
