Paging scholars, and scholars paging, etc.

Jorge Dunn painting

I'm trying to research Jorge Dunn's paintings and kept coming across this article. I have a Jorge Dunn painting still on canvas and I was wondering if you could help me find out how much it might be worth or provide me with a website to research this painting on. I have attached two pictures of my painting.

Danielle

Editor's note: An art appraiser I am not, nor do I know of a Jorge Dunn website. I don't think the man worked in electronic media --- whenever I saw him he was working in charcoal, pastel chalks, watercolors, acrylics or oil paints. Maybe one of the readers might be able to help you more than I can.

Dorindo Cardenas and his daughter Shirley

I am trying to contact Dorindo Cardenas on behalf of my girlfriend Shirley. She has been in the United States over 14 years and has not talked to her father since then. She is the oldest of his children. If there is anyway you can get me in contact with any information on contacting him it would be great.

Latino Ethnic Experience Study

I am a clinical psychology PhD student at the California School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco, CA and am conducting a study on Latino's ethnic experience. I was wondering if you could help me distribute the link to my online survey. Understanding how Latinos experience their ethnicity can help inform current and future psychological treatment and add a great depth of knowledge to ethnic identity development theory. Here is the information I would like distributed.

Do you identify as Latino or Latino American?

Are you at least 18 years of age?

Latino and Latino American Volunteers Needed!

If so, please consider participating in a research project about the ethnic experience of Latino and Latino American adults.

Participation consists of completing an online survey, which will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. After completing the survey, you may choose to enter a raffle for a chance to win a $50 Visa gift card.

This research project is part of my training as a PhD student in clinical psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology. If you have any questions about my project, please contact me at latinoethnicexperience@gmail.com

To participate, please click on the following link:

Regarding the octuplet mom

Genetic science has great potential for either serving or degrading humanity. Its proper use requires moral reflection and the establishment of moral limits. Human welfare does not demand that scientists pursue every avenue available.

Science has confirmed with objective certainty that full human life begins at conception with the formation of a genetically complete, self-directing human entity, the embryo.

Reproductive technologies such as in vitro fertilization are morally problematic because they are used to produce embryos in the laboratory where they can be observed and manipulated. Here, a relationship of domination of researchers over their embryonic subjects exists which not only opens the door to new threats against life but is contrary to the dignity and equality that must be common to parents and children.

Human beings are not raw materials that can be exploited or commodities that can be bought and sold. If a man takes on the power to fabricate man, he also takes on the power to destroy him. The human being has the right to be generated, not produced, to come to life not in virtue of an artificial process but of a human act in the full sense of the term: the union between a man and a woman.

Buses

I have worked in China since 1995 including doing a study on bus manufacturers there. I can tell you the low price is due to poor quality versus, say, Volvo. The Chinese will do anything to get an order. Service and quality are unknown to them. Buying Chinese buses will no doubt result in failure. The best option is buy lower-cost Chinese buses made in a joint venture --- MAN (Germany), Volvo, and others have this there. The government needs someone who knows China to help and guide them --- maybe us !

Paging Dr. Alicio Rivera Iglesias

For some time I have been searching for a friend from the 1960s. His name is Dr. Alicio Rivera Iglesias and I have been told that he practiced medicine at Hospital Santo Tomas in Panama in the late 70s. If you could offer any help, I would appreciate your help. We went to the same college in NE Texas. Thank you for your help.
