In memory of Lieutenant Sebastian Lord, CZFD
by Frank Thomas W.

With much regret, we announce the passing of our good friend and co-worker Lieutenant Sebastian Lord, who passed on to the grace of the Almighty on the 8th of February, 2009.

"Rudy" as he was popularly known, was born in the former Canal Zone on the 25th of May 1949, raised in the areas of Gamboa and Pedro Miguel, and graduated from Paraiso High School in 1968.

He became a member of the Canal Zone Fire Department in 1972.

As a firefighter he was one of the best, he was very skilled, very respecful and had earned the confidence of all his co-workers and officers.

He moved through the ranks, Firefighter, Driver Operator, Sergeant, Lieutenant, with pride and glory and again with the respect of his fellow workers. Some of his skilled achievements were, Emergency Medical Technician, C.P.R. Instructor, First Aid Instructor, High Tower Rescue Instructor (electrical) amongst others.

"Rudy" retired from the C.Z.F.D. in 1997.

After his retirement he continued to exercise his good will to his fellow companions, he became an honored member of the fellowship of the Elks Justice Lodge #832, where he served in many positions: Secretary, Treasurer, Honorary Exalted Ruler.

His parents were, Mr. Albert Lord and Mrs. Vivian Lord, both in the arms of God.

He is survived by his lovely wife, Jeanette Lord, his children Stacey, Michael and Bernard, his sisters Gloria, Marixsa, Juana, Yolanda and Erika, and other relatives and lots of friends.

Services will be held at the St. Christopher Church at Parque Lefevre, Friday 13th. 2009, at 10:00 am.

Rudy is in the hands of God.

May God be with all of us.
