Learning English --- and all about cold weather

This group of Panamanian university students, all outstanding scholars from families that could never send them to study abroad, are the beneficiaries of scholarships to take an intensive English course at St. Michael's College in Vermont. The course started on January 11 and will end March 6, after which they will resume their studies in Panama with a leg up on many of their classmates.

In the front row we have
Nestor Díaz, Andrés Rivera, Jenifer Camaño and Emily Gill. In the row behind them are Roberto Espino, Alfonso Jiménez, Gabriel Fuentes, Dayiris Barrios, Noriel Agrazal and Kerstyn De Gracia.

The scholarships are courtesy of the US government.
