Bobby and Bosco have the bucks, Bobby has the connections and the pundits who think they can tell everyone what to think were laughing. The move was on to throw Miguel Antonio Bernal off the ballot and the passive among us sat back and sighed that nothing could be done.

But then, as if from out of the woodwork, they came --- people without the illustrious surnames, without the establishment stamps of approval --- to defend their independent candidate.

"Who are YOU?" the pompous may have sniffed. They're the ones who never count in the halls of power, Miguel Antonio Bernal's ragtag army of volunteers. Nothing like a power play to turn them out, as they did in front of the Electoral Tribunal, then in Plaza America.

To their surprise, they fended off the challenge to Bernal's Union Patriotica nomination in court. Watch out for them, now that they've had a little taste of victory.
