Girl Scouts (and friends) march against hunger

Malnutrition during pregnancy and early childhood is common in Panama and it's a developmental problem for the nation because it leaves a large trail of learning disabilities and people with stunted growth in its wake. Panama's Girl Scouts, the Asociacion Muchachas Guias de Panama, recently held their annual walk against hunger to raise money and donations of food to combat this scourge. It's not just a charitable event but an educational work, as in the course of this girls are taught the importance of prenatal care, nutrition during pregnancy and proper feeding of infants.

This year a number of people and organizations pitched in, including some of Panama's female boxers, some Boy Scouts and a number of private citizens and some foreign residents of Panama.
