La Maya to host benefit for outstanding local students

for young scholars
Finca La Maya, San Carlos Saturday July 18, 4-8 p.m. Come join the fun and help your community! All are invited to attend a benefit to be held at Finca La Maya on Saturday 18 July, 4-8 pm. Festivities will include an introduction to Finca La Maya’s students and facilities, refreshments, live music by the Blue Note Jazz Quartet and a silent auction to include fabulous offerings such as a one-hour aerial tour in a private plane, a cruise aboard a luxurious yacht, surf lessons, beach getaway weekends and dinner packages at several local restaurants. Proceeds will be used to provide annual scholarships to three outstanding local students --- Alex Martinez, Zulay Vogt and Lloele Muñoz --- who are furthering their own education while continuing to work in La Maya’s free community programs every Saturday. Thanks to the generosity of local sponsors and private donors who have contributed auction items, the auction will not only add to the festivities, but will help provide ongoing support in class assistance and materials.
