Scenes from the Panama Jazz Festival's free concert in Plaza Catedral

The imprudence of a reporter who went to a long event without an extra camera battery, the exigencies of a forgettable character who felt a need to assert arbitrary authority and a number of other human, mechanical and natural limitations conspire to deny you as complete and compelling a photo story of what went on at Plaza Catedral on the final day of the Panama Jazz Festival as might have otherwise been the case. This reporter isn't going to cry about it, and hopes that the readers will appreciate what remains while understanding that the experience was far broader than is portrayed here.

Those photos that have been electronically altered
? If you are not disposed to grant any artistic licenses, can you be all that sure that you're not dealing with an old hippie who loyally and accurately portrays a hallucinatory world view?

Oh, and the incident that made it into the glosas in some of the dailies, in which the boos were said to have been heard all the way out on Amador? Just a stupid move by a stupid politician, and if we are lucky we will be referring to him in the past tense this time next year.

It was a wonderful climax to a wonderful festival, and a good reason for those of you in the frigid climes to make The Panama Jazz Festival part of your travel plans for next year.
