Monday
afternoon's headline act was the New England Conservatory Jazz
Ensemble. The school always sends a good band to Panama, but this
year's musicians were unusually good, and the day's outstanding
performance, both to this reporter's untrained ear and according to
audience reaction, was by Brad Barrett on the bass.
