Atlantic sider, a Gatun kid. He also spent a working life with the US
Department of Defense, and after the bases closed here he went on to
work for the DoD in Germany. From there, and his travels around nearby
countries, he would send us photos of interesting scenery. It made for
about a dozen travel pages, some in-kind favors for which The
Panama News was never able to adequately repay him.
Ivan died the other day, after a long battle with cancer and liver disease. His artistic legacy is one of the several things about him that will survive his death.                   Also in
