The

of Panagringos photos by Eric Jackson, except as noted It may be true that in the USA relatively
few people know more about Panama than that there is a canal here and
we once had a dictator named Noriega. But there is a long and
complicated relationship between the two countries, which expresses
itself on personal levels in terms of a spectrum of cultural blends,
languages, dual citizenship, naturalization, residency of one country's
citizens in the other, members of immediate families with different
nationalities, people who went to the other country but then returned
and so on. Try to figure out who's Panamanian and
who's American, and in which ways, among the people in these photos.
There are a few "pure" Americans and a few "pure" Panamanians here, but
mostly it's a collection of complicated stories.
